Nb3Sn Scaling Parameterization - Part I

Abstract: 

The Nb3Sn superconducting critical surface (Ic as a function of B, T, and strain) can be expressed by a set of "parameterization" equations.  The key reason is that the pinning force curves (Fp = I x B as a function of B) at different temperatures and strains coalesce into one master scaling curve, and importantly for application this is what gives the extrapolation capability.

This talk will give a graphical as well as mathematical description of the scaling parameterization "Extrapolative Scaling Expression" (ESE) incorporating the Hybrid2 temperature scaling and the exponential strain scaling.
